Web Conference 12-11-2011

I was able to review the Web conference for 12-11-2011. In this conference the participants were able to wrap up multiple loose ends in this program. Some of the loose ends I wish I would have seen before tonight. One of which would have been the fact that we do not have to publish our discussion boards this week. I had at this point in the night published my initial response and a comment to another student who must have missed this conference also. Either way the failure to follow that particular direction only gave me a chance to practice my writing skills and communicate with another student. I did notice that the web conference did have a large amount of material that did not necessarily belong to the course work. There were comments on the football team’s successes as well as other items. There were also complements on the proficiency of our IA for this course. It is amazing to me how this one tool can bring people from around the state together in order to participate in this exercise whether it is academic or otherwise.

Web Conference 12-4-2011

As this program continues to move along I find myself asking more questions with fewer answers. Number one on the list is how do I fit all of the items that I have learned into this program? The course is created to develop new skills in each of us. In my opinion if we all had these skills already then there would be no reason to take the course. In this web conference Dr. Abernathy had addressed multiple areas of concern. Such items as what needs to be turned into this week. Some of the items were welcomed relief in this high paced course. We were extended the opportunity to work on our Public Service Announcements with our group members in lieu of doing our discussion boards and another assignment. This worked out well for me because I needed the extra time to address issues with my understanding in this program. I was fortunate to be in a group that worked well together.

week 2

This week I received the opportunity to experience a new type of technology. That was of course the podcast. I have never done anything like this in the past and for me this was a little challenging to say the least. I learned how to transfer material from one area to the other. I learned to coordinate the material in a sequence. I was given the opportunity to grow as a person. Although this made me go outside my comfort zone I was happy that I completed the assignment, because it meant that I learned some new material. I am looking forward to finding new ways to bring these lessons back to the classroom.

Week 1

This week is a challenging week for me. At present I am still having problems with my upload to both youtube and my wiki site. I want to get this accomplished, but I do not know where I am going wrong. I does not help that I have never done this before because I am doing this from scratch and I have not seen it done before so it is a method of trial and error. Unfortunately it is more error than trial at this point. HELP!
